Kate Middleton and Prince William may not be able to publicly speak about certain political issues. But a recent post on the social media page of their Heads Together charity suggests that they are subtly showing their support for Black Lives Matter.
The organization posted a message on Instagram Tuesday to encourage others struggling with mental health issues to reach out if they need support. The social media account also provided details of Shout, the crisis hotline in the U.K.
Heads Together also captioned their call to take care of one's mental health with a statement saying that the organization "stands with the black community." The post was written on a black background, which has been the popular color this week, amid a wave of protests against injustice in the U.S. and some parts of Europe.
Earlier, the Queen's Commonwealth Trust and The Diana Award also posted support for Black Lives Matter. It comes as many are outraged about the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white American cop. This cop ignored Floyd's pleas that he could not breathe while the policeman pinned him down by the neck for nine minutes.
Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry launched Heads Together in 2016 as their mental health initiative. Prince Harry continues to be part of the campaign even as he broke away from the royal family and established his own foundation.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate are still in lockdown in Anmer Hall. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are supposed to have brought Princess Charlotte on a school run last June 1, as classes for reception students (kindergarten) have reopened in the U.K.
However, the royals haven't been seen at Thomas's Battersea, Princess Charlotte's school in London. It is believed that Kate and Prince William decided to keep her children together at home and continue to homeschool. Prince George's classes won't open until next week thus the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge likely decided that her children will go back to school at the same time.
Kate, who used to be opposed to homeschooling, said that there are challenges of kids learning their school lessons at home. However, they have been following a pretty organized and structured routine that Kate is now used to the system.
She also shared that she has been keeping on with homeschooling Prince George nad Princess Charlotte, even if the kids are actually on a school term break. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are on year 2 and kindergarten, respectively.
