Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has been saying his first words. Now 13 months old, the young royal is reportedly enjoying a lot of playtime with his parents and the family dogs in Los Angeles.
A source told Us Weekly that Archie now says words like "Dada," "Mama" and "dog." The baby is also fond of playing hide-and-seek and is keen on doing building blocks.
Archie's first word was actually "Dada," as the source predicted. The baby lights up and gets very excited when he sees his father approach to carry him.
A few months ago, a source also told Us Weekly that Archie is a super smart kid who is quite physically strong. He's been moving around a lot and exploring his little space without any support.
The baby has been described as a happy child and a social butterfly who doesn't cry a lot. He's very interested by what's around him and loves interacting with people. Archie doesn't shy away from visitors or his parents' friends when they used to live in Vancouver. The family, however, has been staying cooped up in their Los Angeles home due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently upgraded their security team at their palatial Beverly Hills mansion as they have been dealing with drone intrusions. These drones are apparently taking photos or videos of their son Archie, who likes to spend time in the backyard, where there is an outdoor pool.
According to Daily Beast, Prince Harry and Meghan reported the drone incidents to the Los Angeles Police Department's non-emergency hotlines. They've had about five drone incidents in May, which they assumed have been released by the paparazzi.
However, threats of terror are taken seriously in the royal family since Meghan has had racist threats before. Thus, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want more safety and security with the additional protection officers.
Prince Harry and Meghan are paying for the increased security with their own money. Prince Charles is also helping the couple shoulder part of their security expenses abroad.
Prince William, however, has reportedly advised his brother to come home to London where it is safer. The Duke of Cambridge has been a source of support and strength for his younger brother, who has to adjust to the L.A. way of life.
Prince Harry and Meghan's move to America has had some setbacks because of the pandemic. They were supposed to kick off their foundation's launch in April but they have now delayed their plans for a few more months while the world deals with the coronavirus crisis.
