The paparazzi hunt has started for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Reports reveal that that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have called up the LAPD to report drones hovering over their house in Beverly Hills.
Since Meghan and Prince Harry's home has been discovered and published in the media, they've apparently had five drone-related incidents. According to the Daily Beast, the Sussexes made calls to the LAPD's non-emergency hotlines on May 9, 19, 20, 21 and 25.
Sources said that Meghan and Prince Harry are experiencing "unimaginable levels" of media intrusion. The drones fly 20 feet above the ground to take photos of the family, including their minor child, one-year-old Archie Harrison.
According to reports, the most recent invasion happened on Memorial Day Weekend, when Meghan and Archie were in the pool in the mansion's massive backyard. Drones were also used to take photos and videos of Meghan and Prince Harry playing with their dogs outside.
Despite this, the source said that Meghan and Prince Harry have not asked for special treatment. Only, they want to have safety and security like any ordinary family.
Besides the drones, Meghan and Prince Harry apparently have paparazzi trailing them in cars. When they went out to deliver food for charity in April, two cars apparently followed the royal pair to take photos and videos.
Prince Harry and Meghan left London amid their quarrel with the British tabloid press. The couple said that the media scrutiny has been affecting their mental health, especially Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have considered hiring more security to pay with their own money, while they are in Los Angeles. Currently, their security cost is being shouldered by Prince Charles' estate and private funds.
However, this arrangement is good for only a year, for now, as the Sussexes pursue financial independence. Their plans, however, have been affected by the coronavirus lockdown as they cannot hold in-person meetings and venture outside of their house as much as they should have.
The LAPD confirmed that they received a drone incident report on May 20 and during Memorial Day Weekend. A spokesperson told The Daily Beast that there is "an ongoing drone issue" in the Beverly Hills area.
Meghan and Prince Harry have been staying in the $18 million home of Tyler Perry. It's unclear, however, if they have been paying rent or staying in as guests of the Hollywood producer and actor.
