While Succession season 3 is happening on HBO, there are still questions when it comes to its future. Because of the current global health crisis, some things have been changed. It looks like we won't be seeing the series anytime soon. But, will it arrive at some point in 2020?
Earlier this year, the production of Succession season 3 has been pushed back because of the coronavirus outbreak. According to CarterMatt, the series hasn't started filming in the spring and was never supposed to premiere in the summer.
In mid-March, HBO announced that the series would be delayed. The show was in pre-production when the health crisis hits the globe. The network noted that the writers are working remotely, though there's no word as to when will everything resume.
Some speculated filming could start in the fall, at least the very earliest. However, there are still other factors that needed to be considered, including the filming locations. It's very likely production of Succession season 3 may not start until 2021.
The third installment may not happen this 2020 on HBO since several challenges come along the way. It would be difficult for the cast and crew to start working anytime soon. The top priority now is health and safety and they could start filming as soon as the situation gets better.
As for what we can expect in Succession season 3, series writer Lucy Prebble revealed that they're going "more international" that they've gone before. This has something to do with the relationship between the media industry and the international countries.
Series star Brian Cox, who plays Logan Roy, also confirmed some speculations regarding the season 2 finale. In a report via Deadline, he talked about the scene wherein Logan was smirking while watching Kendall turn on him. He knows that the boy has finally grown up and has taken positive action.
Cox explained that Logan was aware that Kendall was treacherous, but he's not judging him. There is some validation of what actually happened, and Logan accepts that. So, it would be interesting to see where their relationship is going entering Succession season 3.
According to Cox, a lot of fireworks are coming between Logan and Kendall, and possibly another of Logan's children, as well. What's interesting here is how young Roman comes into play, especially since he showed his mettle in season 2 finale. Perhaps, there is something more about him that should be explored.
