Ivanka Trump has a lot of friends from her different circles. It is not surprising considering her and her family's status in society.
Prior to her arrival inside the White House, the now-First Daughter ran several networks in various industries. These include her business circles from when working as an executive in the Trump organization, her fashion circles from her fashion-related businesses, and her elite circles.
But, she did not meet her best friend in these networks. As it happened, she met Wendi Deng because they were neighbors.
Wendi Deng, formerly known as Wendi Murdoch, was married to billionaire mogul Rupert Murdoch. During their marriage, they lived in New York, just beside Ivanka Trump's home. Since then, they have maintained a close friendship, according to Cheat Sheet.
Wendi, reportedly, came from "humble beginnings." Unlike the US President's daughter, she grew up in a small town in China.
Despite the huge difference from their upbringing, Wendi and Ivanka became very close, even today. They, reportedly, share the same lifestyle as they, reportedly, frequently traval together, especially before Ivanka Trump became a senior advisor to her father.
However, the friendship between the two women became highly controversial these past few years. As reported, it all has something to do with the affair rumors that plagued Wendi Deng.
Rupert Murdoch ended the 14-year marriage because of his suspicions toward his then-wife, according to Vanity Fair. Reports claimed that she had an affair with not only one but, two high-profile personalities.
The first was with the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair. The rumors became apparent after a note from Wendi Deng went viral.
At the same time, reports alleged that she and Vladimir Putin were also dating, as far back as 2013. Photos of the two, including Ivanka Trump circulated. However, it was, later on, "dispelled" and, reportedly, proven to be a product of photoshop.
The Wall Street Journal released a report, at that time, claiming that US officials "warned" Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, about Wendi Deng and the possibility of her using the friendship that she has with the couple, as per Bustle. It is also said that a "counterintelligence report" suggested that Wendi is working for China's government.
The camp of Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, reportedly, responded to the warnings and asserted that the friendship that they have with the Murdochs is "neither political nor about China." Wendi's spokesman also shared that she was not aware of "any FBI concerns" or the likes regarding her "associations."
