A lot of body language experts are trying to read Melania Trump's moves. One said she might have yet to fully embrace her role as the First Lady of the United States. However, some see it as her reaction to her alleged marriage problem with Donald Trump.
A lot of rumors are surrounding Donald and Melania Trump's marriage, including infidelities. So, what does the FLOTUS's body language says about her?
The former model was seen several times trying to refuse her husband's attempt to hold her hand in public. According to Herald Scotland, it might have something do with the allegations about the POTUS's alleged infidelities.
The two once again made noise after the President asked her wife to smile in front of the camera in a photo opportunity at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington DC. The former television personality turned to his spouse and told her, "Can you please smile?"
Melania Trump gladly obeyed, but she only seemed to show her teeth for a brief moment and returned to her serious face again. It was not the first time that the businesswoman tried to fake her smile.
At Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017, her smile was seemed to be disintegrating when her husband was not looking. This, too, went viral, just like the clip from the National Shrine.
Body language expert Darren Stanton revealed Melania Trump might have yet to embrace her position as the First Lady fully. She used to be a model in New York before she started dating her now-husband.
Although it was never new for her to get everyone's attention, her public role changed when Donald Trump won the 2016 Presidential election. When she became the First Lady, her role changed, too.
She became the host of the White House. As part of it, she also had to back important campaigns. For her part, she chose to support the Be Best initiative, which mostly focused on children's wellbeing. She also regularly held events and gave her voice to different vital causes in the country.
However, despite her efforts, Stanton revealed she did not initially fully accept the role of the First Lady. He told Express, it was clear from the outset that it was not going to be a role she would embrace.
He added that over her time in the White House, she saw Melania Trump openly showing signs of "disdain and contempt" at times. However, although she might have looked unsure at the beginning, she now seemed more relaxed into the role.
As time goes by, Melania Trump now looks "genuinely happy" as the FLOTUS. But, he confirmed that she is not the type who can hide her fake smiles.
