Queen Elizabeth is, reportedly, upset by the legal troubles and controversy of Prince Andrew, her second son. Despite reports that the Queen is privately supportive of the Duke of York, insider sources now say that Her Majesty is actually not happy with Prince Andrew.

There have been speculations that Queen Elizabeth indulges Prince Andrew because he is her favorite child. However, sources said that The Queen's patience with Prince Andrew has been "wearing thin for a long time."

According to The Sunday Times, the Palace has been more upset at Prince Andrew recently because news of America's official request to interview the Duke of York over the case of his friend, Jeffrey Epstein, overshadowed Prince Philip's 99th birthday. Apparently, someone leaked the request from the U.S. to time it with the Duke of Edinburgh's milestone commemoration.

The source also said that Prince Andrew regrets that he had granted that infamous BBC interview about Epstein and drew more ire from the public. That interview led to the Duke of York's resignation from his royal duties in November 2019 as he admitted he should have cut his ties with Epstein and observe high standards among the people he associated as a member of the royal family.

Apparently, Prince Andrew regretted that he was not able to appropriately convey his sympathy for the women Epstein exploited in that interview. Epstein was in prison for sexual trafficking until he committed suicide in his cell in August 2019.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), reportedly, officially asked the U.K. Home Office to interview Prince Andrew since he's closely tied to Epstein, who was his friend for more than a decade. According to BBC, the U.S. made formal their request to interview the royal about what he knows of Epstein's sex trade in May.

Prince Andrew has always denied that he did anything wrong but be friends with Epstein. However, a woman named Virginia Roberts Giuffre has come forward to claim that Prince Andrew benefited from that friendship, as he had sex with a minor on three different instances. The royal said he doesn't recall ever meeting Giuffre.

The legal team of the Duke of York advised him not to talk about his ties to Epstein. However, as the U.S. DOJ issued a formal request, Prince Andrew is in the headlines again and it's reminding the public of his disgrace as a royal.
