A new book about Melania Trump, titled The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, revealed a lot about Donald Trump's wife. From her role as the First Lady of the United States to her relationship with Ivanka Trump, it unveiled she once shunned her public role but stood her ground against her stepdaughter.

Melania Trump did not want to be called the First Lady at the beginning; she found it hard to adjust to public life. She used to stay in New York when Donald Trump became the President of the United States but never allowed Ivanka Trump to step in her role in the White House.

When the FLOTUS had yet to move to Washington, the Senior Advisor to the President established herself in the West Wing. As the place seemed too cramped and had small workspaces, the latter, reportedly, eyed the First Lady's domain, the West Wing.

According to The Washington Post, the 38-year-old businesswoman wanted to rename the First Lady's Office to the First Family Office, but the former model never allowed it to happen. "It was a tradition," so she never let her stepdaughter change it.

Although Ivanka Trump stayed in the West Wing, Melania Trump's late move to New York resulted in the allocation of the budget for the First Lady's office. Even the staff positions were gone, and it all went to support the West Wing.

In the first two years of the Trump administration, some people in the White House noticed that the West Wing continuously put roadblocks and even purposely not supporting the First Lady's office. However, others believed it was only an "oversight in the chaos."

Ivanka Trump is known for being relatively close to her father. She does not only work at the Trump Organization but also played a crucial role in Donald Trump's campaign. Among his kids, she is the only one who has the most active role in the White House.

Ivanka Trump took advantage of the time Melania Trump was still in New York. She used all the White House perks, treating it like her own home. Melania did not like it, so when she and her son, Barron, finally moved in, she stopped Ivanka's reigning by putting "firm boundaries."

Unlike other people in the White House, Melania Trump stayed silent. She never liked publicity. She did not need to show that she had Donald Trump's ear, and he loved her for that.

People in the West Wing would occasionally hear the Trump patriarch criticizing his kids, including Ivanka Trump, but never his wife. The Hill noted that despite her silence, Melania Trump plays an "unbelievably influential" role in the White House.

Sean Spicer, the President's first White House press secretary, told the book author Mary Jordan about Melania Trump's pivotal role in the office. Although she is not the type who will ask Donald Trump to hire or fire a person, she lets the President know what she thinks. Despite being hard-headed, Donald always takes Melania "very seriously and tends to agree."
