Meghan Markle is, allegedly, ending her friendship with Jessica Mulroney after the latter figured in a controversy over her white privilege. Reports said that the Duchess of Sussex has been planning to cut ties with Mulroney even then, as their friendship has been "on the outs" for some time.

A source told Page Six that Meghan and Mulroney's relationship as best friends for the last 10 years was on the rocks even before the controversy with African American blogger and influencer Sasha Exeter broke. Apparently, this has finally given Meghan the excuse to cut Mulroney out of her life.

Another source revealed to Page Six that the friendship between the Duchess of Sussex and the TV stylist has been different for a while now. Meghan allegedly feels that Mulroney has been "making a career out of the friendship." The source, however, could not say what the tipping point was for their relationship to sour.

Mulroney has, reportedly, been "in hiding" following her rift with Exeter, according to the Toronto Sun. After she was fired from her TV jobs over reports that she talked down and threatened Exeter and her livelihood, Mulroney decided to scale back on her exposures on social media, where she is also an influencer.

The stylist has apologized a few times on her Instagram for her behavior against Exeter. She said that she still has a lot of work to do to change and do better in the future thus she is going to step back from her media presence and "use this time to reflect, learn and listen."

Mulroney also announced that she will be stepping away as director of the charity she co-founded with her sisters-in-law. The stylist is married to Ben Mulroney, who is the son of Canada's former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

Exeter claimed that Mulroney took offense to one of her posts, which was a generic call to action in light of the protests happening in North America. She claimed that her message was not specifically directed at Mulroney but she received private messages from the stylist that were "very problematic behavior and antics."

The African American blogger said that Mulroney asserted her white privilege by threatening her livelihood. Apparently, Mulroney said that she spoke with companies about Exeter, whose livelihood relies on the support of brands.

Mulroney also apparently discounted Exeter's voice to speak out. She claimed that Mulroney cannot be posting that she stands by the Black community while silencing an African American woman by blocking her.
