Power Book II: Ghost is still happening on Starz, but some original plans for the series have been changed now. There is no guarantee that the Power sequel will be coming out in summer. Filming was halted due to the current global health crisis, just like any other shows out there.

But despite that, producers aren't just sitting down and waiting for the series to come back. Instead, they're working on creative solutions to figure out what to do next. But then, Power Book II: Ghost may not likely follow the originally written script.

It's unlikely that everything will stay the same as a significant amount of creativity is needed. Also, there would be health and safety precautions once the cast and crew resume filming. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, creator/showrunner Courtney Kemp has something to say about this matter.

Power Book II: Ghost is the first spin-off of Power and the main character is a basketball player. Kemp revealed they have to shoot the character playing basketball in the arena college, but this thing may not happen because of the current situation.

In addition, the frat parties they shot will not further continue in the first installment. She said that when it comes to crowd scenes, they have to shoot smaller. They shouldn't have much recurring cast members, who need to travel from place to place.

Limitation in production is one of the major challenges of the sequel. Perhaps, the series could eventually film lager crowd and include more recurring cast again. However, considering the situation at the moment, that won't happen anytime soon.

When things get a little bit better, filming may start later this year. Then, the sequel will most likely arrive at some point in 2021. Right now, the health and safety remain to be the top priority of everyone. Cast and crew could resume filming when the situation goes back to normal.

In terms of story, Power Book II: Ghost will, reportedly, follow the events that happened in the finale of the main series. This time, the sequel centers on Tariq St. Patrick, wherein he navigates his new life. This is a new story and everyone is excited about it.

Power Book II: Ghost stars Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick, Mary J. Blige as Monet, Method Man as Davis Maclean, Daniel Bellomy as Ezekiel "Zeke" Cross, Gianni Paolo as Brayden, Justin McManus as Jabari Reynolds, LaToya Tonedeo as Diana Tejada, and Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada.
