Prince William apparently has some awesome daddy tricks to raising his children in a happy environment. The 38-year-old dad has three kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis -- with wife of nine years, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

According to The Sun, when Prince George had problems with sleeping as a baby because he was a light sleeper and would often wake up with the slightest noise, his father would simulate the sound of running water to help his first-born sleep. Prince William also did the same trick to Princess Charlotte when she was still a few months old.

Prince William and Kate have full-time help with their kids from their Norland-trained nanny Maria Borello for years. They've had her since the arrival of their first child. But the Duke of Cambridge would still keep with his daddy duties from day 1 of welcoming his baby as he would change the baby's nappies. According to sources, Prince William is not the squeamish dad when it came to changing diapers.

The dad of three also likes the idea of driving around in the car with his kids. He doesn't mind the noise or the mess, and would even sing to his children. Prince William also uses this time to test his kids about their homework or play games in the car as they head to school.

Members of the Hurlingham Club, which is frequented by the Cambridge family, say that Prince William and Kate's kids behave impeccably. There are no children throwing a tantrum and they obediently queue the line at the restaurant like the other kids. The children of Prince William are taught not to ask for special favors.

Prince William said in an interview with GQ as a first-time dad that he wants to raise his chidlren in a happy, stable and secure world. The Duke of Cambridge is intent on his children knowing about life outside of the palace walls and to be raised in "real, loving environment."

Sources said that the royal draws inspiration from Kate's father, who has been hands-on in raising his children. Apparently for Prince William, Michael Middleton is the kind, amusing and solid father he would like to emulate.

Though his own father, Prince Charles, was not the hands-on type, Prince William's relationship with him improved over the years, especially now that the royal brothers are grown-ups. On June 21, as Prince William turned 38, Clarence House posted a loving photo the Duke of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales., which was taken by Kate last December.
