Shayan Sobhian has been promoted as series regular in the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow season 6. A previous report confirmed that his character Behrad will be an essential part of the new installment, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2021.
The promotion of Sobhian's Behrad in Legends of Tomorrow season 6 is good news to some fans out there. The character was first introduced in Then CW series back in season 4 finale, wherein the Legends changes the history and erased their Zari in the timeline.
The air totem-wielding Behrad took her place and became a member of the Team Legend. He was never killed despite the alterations to the past, while Zari became an entrepreneur/social media influencer. But, in the middle of the fifth installment, one of the Greek Fates killed Behrad.
The good thing was that Charlie/Clotho managed to resurrect him. However, things get even more complicated from there. After splitting Zari's thread, both versions of the character lives. Yet, Zari 1.0 realized two timelines fight for control over Behrad's life.
That's when she decided to go back inside the totem to save her brother. This is a huge season 5 ender, and it's clear that Behrad and the other version of Zari are sticking around moving forward. Perhaps, there could be twists and turns coming in Legends of Tomorrow season 6.
What's exciting about Behrad being a series regular is that he's a different character compared to those we've seen on the Waverider. Also, Sobhian's promotion isn't the only casting shakeup in the upcoming installment, as some familiar faces aren't returning.
For instance, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who played Charlie, will not be returning as series regular in Legends of Tomorrow season 6. The previous season also saw the departures of Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer/The Atom and Courtney Ford's Nora Darhk.
While there's a chance a few different people return down the road, there's still no guarantee it will indeed happen. As for the story itself, CarterMatt noted the new installment will have a significant alien theme -- though it's not entirely clear how this will look like.
When it comes to the official release date of Legends of Tomorrow season 6, it will, reportedly, arrive in mid-2021. However, there are uncertainties to that, considering the current global health crisis. There could be a potential delay since cast and crew won't be able to start filming anytime soon.
