The withdrawal announcement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happened after the Duke of Sussex confirmed in a documentary that he and Prince William are “on different paths” now. Feuds between the “Royal Fab Four” had been speculated for months. While there were not enough proofs to confirm these claims, many are convinced that the Cambridges and the Sussexes were at war.
But before the alleged rift, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry, Meghan Markle appeared to have a good relationship. Now, a throwback interview revealed how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were like during their first meeting with the former actress.
Prince Harry said during his and Meghan Markle’s engagement interview in 2017 that the meeting was exciting. The Duke of Sussex shared that his brother and Kate Middleton had been longing to meet Meghan.
“Catherine has been absolutely…” Prince Harry said and Meghan Markle continued, “Wonderful.” The Duke of Sussex then added, “Amazing, as has William as well, and then my father as well.” As for Queen Elizabeth, Meghan Markle shared that she had met Her Majesty a “couple of times,” saying that the moment was “incredible.”
Meanwhile, Ever since Meghan Markle joined the Royal family in 2018, reports about her and Kate Middleton not getting along have been making their rounds on the internet. Various sites and magazines claimed that the wives of Prince William and Prince Harry are not as close as they should be.
While people could only guess the real status of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s relationship, it is quite evident that the pair enjoy watching the Wimbledon tennis tournament. In fact, the Duchesses have been attending the event together for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, they are forced to cancel this tradition as the London-based tournament has been called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Before all rift speculations, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle enjoyed the Wimbledon tennis tournament together in 2018. They were even spotted whispering to each other as they watched the Ladies' Singles Final in the front row of the royal box.
