Prince Charles received a lot of criticisms from followers and supporters of Meghan Markle after he delivered a speech on diversity. The fans accused the heir to the British throne of being a hypocrite because he apparently failed to defend his daughter-in-law from racially-motivated attacks.

Prince Charles delivered his speech on diversity on Monday, June 22, to thank the Caribbean community and the Windrush generation for their contribution to British society.  This day marked the arrival of 500 Jamaican people in Essex 72 years ago.

The Prince of Wales said that they helped rebuild the country while the workers rebuilt their lives. He also said that Britain is diversely strong today because of people like them, who showed hard work and honed their skill as they "forged a better future" for their families.

But while Prince Charles acknowledged the Jamaicans who brought diversity to Britain, fans of the Duchess of Sussex said that he didn't do anything to protect his son's wife from racial bullying. More than once, Prince Harry called out the racist attacks against his wife, who comes from a biracial family with a Black American mother and white American father.

Meghan's fans said that Prince Charles only sat back to see Meghan get bullied on social media and the tabloid press. The Prince of Wales and his family also, allegedly, didn't welcome Meghan with open arms, who was "diverse as they will ever get."

But some royal followers had to spell it out for the fans of Meghan. While no one from the royal family spoke directly about the attacks against Meghan, other than Prince Harry, they were apparently supportive of her.

Queen Elizabeth said in a statement in January 2020 that Harry, Meghan and Archie are always loved by the family and that she recognizes the challenges they face under the royal spotlight. She also said that she supports their desire to become more independent thus she allowed them to step back from being working royals. One royal fan encouraged the fans of Meghan to "stop spreading the hate to Harry's father," who is actually the person funding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle.

According to reports, Prince Charles is financially supporting Prince Harry and Meghan when they stepped back as working royals and stopped receiving public funds. Prince Harry's father agreed to pay for half of their security cost in Canada and Los Angeles, which amounts to millions of dollars, from his private earnings from his lands in Cornwall. The Prince of Wales agreed to help his second son and daughter-in-law for at least a year until they get their life on track as private individuals.
