It seems that BTS V just can't help breaking and setting new records on different platforms because he recently became a trending topic for being the Korean soloist to have an iTunes No. 1 in the most countries for his song Sweet Night.
According to a report by All Kpop, V trended worldwide on Twitter as fans celebrated his 90th No.1 on global iTunes when South Africa joined the rest of the world in loving Kim Taehyung's Sweet Night.
With the addition of South Africa, V now holds the record of being the Korean soloist to have the most No. 1s on the music platform with 90 countries.
It can be recalled that Sweet Night was a very special song for V because he wrote, produced, and performed it as a part of his good friend Park Seo Joon's hit drama series Itaewon Class. The song was an homage that the actor ran in the series.
As soon as it was released in May, V was able to break PSY's record of having a No. 1 in the most countries. Gangnam Style held the record for eight years for being No. 1 in 86 countries. V topped the feat by debuting at No. 1 in 88 countries.
However, it seems that V is not yet done breaking records this year because he recently revealed that he wants to release his own mixtape by the end of the year.
After the success of Suga's solo comeback with Agust D's D-2, V revealed that he has also been writing a lot of songs. In a recent broadcast, he shared with fans that he has been concentrating on writing even though it is still unsure which member will be scheduled to release a solo.
He revealed that he has so far written eight songs. He said that he is also unsure if these will all make it to the planned mixtape but he wants the best for the ARMYs so he is thinking of the fans as he works on his music.
Kim Taehyung said that he is not making promises but he will try to drop the mixtape by the end of the year. If his plans push through, V will be the first of BTS' vocal line to have a mixtape since the rap line RM, J-Hope and Suga have released solo materials. Apart from Sweet Night, V's solos include Scenery and Winter Bear which are major hits on SoundCloud.
