The Boys season 2 is arriving within a few months on Amazon Prime and many were delighted about it. A lot of exciting stories are coming within the new installment. One of the things to look forward to is the arrival of the latest member of the Seven.
In 2019, it was announced that Aya Cash will be joining The Boys season 2 and she'll be playing the role of Stormfront. Recently, the cast members reunited in the new special called The Boys F**kin' Reunited and more details about her role have been revealed.
In an interview with Patton Oswalt, who plays a guest role in the new season, Cash discussed her role in the upcoming installment. The actress explained that Stormfront is the newest villain and member of the Seven, and she is entirely different from Homelander.
It can be recalled that things get awry for Translucent in the previous season. The character has met his ultimate demise and Vought recognized they couldn't hide the truth from people that long. That's when Stormfront appears in the picture.
The Boys season 2 shared a clip featuring Stormfront, wherein she ambushed the Seven on her Instagram Live. The scene showed her clashing with Homelander over her joining the supes. Cash teased that her character and the leader of the Seven will form an interesting relationship moving forward.
But while there's a tension and combativeness between them as the series progresses, Stormfront ends up earning Homelander's respect throughout the season. A lot of things could happen that could flesh her out as a character. We could learn more about her, particularly as to who she really is.
In the comics, Stormfront is a male neo-nazi superhero leading a rival team to the Seven called Payback. He's the first superhero made in Nazi Germany by Compound V when he was still a child. Hitler ordered Stormfront to be killed, but he was instead sent to the United States when he was young.
He grew up racist and became one of the most powerful superheroes. Some of his powers include electricity manipulation, flight, super strength, and controlling the weather. But since The Boys season 2 updated the character, it remains to be seen whether or not the creators entirely stick to the comics.
For now, we know that Stormfront is extremely tech-savvy. She understands how technology and social media works and knows how to leverage them to make sure she gets what she wants. This could irk Homelander and other members of Seven.
