Newly released documents of Meghan Markle's High Court privacy case revealed a lot of interesting details. The Duchess of Sussex is suing the publisher of The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, Associated Newspapers, over an article that showed part of her 2018 letter to her estranged father Thomas Markle, which she claimed is a privacy breach.

In the documents, Meghan Markle’s legal team named Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, and Prince Michael of Kent. The two daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II were singled out in response to a claim that members of the Royal Family don't work.

"Several member[s] of the Royal Family do ‘undertake paid work’ including, for example, Princess Beatrice of York, Princess Eugenie of York and Prince Michael of Kent,” the documents read.

Royal historian Marlene Koenig expressed how she disliked the idea of naming the three royals in Meghan Markle’s legal papers. She tweeted that she wished the Duchess of Sussex didn't bring up Princess Eugenie of York and Prince Michael of Kent because they are not working royals and have to earn their money on their own.

Responding to a Twitter user who said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “right to leave,” Marlene Koenig said that it’s “embarrassing” that the Duchess of Sussex dragged the three royals into her case as she should have known that they are noon-working royals.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world when they announced back in January that they will be stepping down as senior royals. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared that they want to live a "peaceful life" as they focus on their family and charities while being "financially independent."

Prince Philip remained silent regarding the matter, but a royal expert shared that he is not too pleased with how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did their announcement. Richard Fitzwilliams said that the Duke of Edinburgh may have taken the whole thing with "a dim view.”

Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been talking with senior royals about their intention to step back since the summer, their announcement blindsided Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Philip may have not appreciated that.

Prince Philip retired at the age of 96 after serving the monarchy for decades. Even though the Duke of Edinburgh is already retired, he maintains a strong sense of royal duty, which he probably didn’t see in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
