Prince William and Kate Middleton finally had their first in-person royal engagement together since the relaxing of the coronavirus restrictions in the U.K. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the NHS workers at King's Lynn Queen Elizabeth Hospital as the institution celebrated 72 years.

The Cambridge royals extended their gratitude for the hospital workers amid this pandemic crisis. Prince William and Kate had afternoon tea with the staff and wore matching blue outfits, which is incidentally the color of the NHS. The Cambridge couple was also seen cleaning their hands with hand sanitizers before they sat down with the key workers.

It should be recalled that before U. K. went into a lockdown in March as the virus cases increased, Prince William and Kate also visited NHS workers at its call centers. While there, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also acknowledged the key workers for their sacrifices to help those in need in this public health crisis.

Prince William and Kate returned to in-person royal engagements in early June but visited separate facilities. While Prince William went to Oxford to talk to the scientists developing a COVID-19 vaccine, Kate went to a hospice facility to cheer up families trying to cope with their children's terminal illness.

The Duke of Cambridge also visited local pubs and bakeries in Norfolk to check on how they are preparing to restart their business. Kate, on the other hand, visited local garden sites to also see what they have done as the U. K. has eased up on the lockdown restrictions.

Meanwhile, the older children of Prince William and Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have recently started their summer vacation. After homeschooling for three months, the Cambridge children have all the time to play and enjoy their time off school at their home in Anmer Hall, where they have been staying since March.

It's unclear if Prince William and Kate plan to return to Kensington Palace in London with their children free of school work. The kids won't have to be back to in-person classes until the fall season.

Prince William and Kate shared that life in lockdown has been hectic with the kids as they have been busy with activities. Kate said that the children have been tending to their garden and have started growing sunflowers. Prince William also shared that he and the kids have been doing a lot of baking during the lockdown.
