Lexus on Tuesday unveiled the redesigned 2021 LS sedan for the Japanese market. The company did not disclose whether or not the same updates will arrive in the U.S., but this revelation does give us a rough idea of what other markets must expect.

At a glance, it's quite difficult to see the changes made on the sedan except for the new paint color called Gin-ei Luster, which involves quite a complicated painting process using aluminum. It makes the Lexus LS look so smooth and almost mirror-like, but that's just in the pictures.

The bumpers of the new LS have been adjusted in order to enhance its difference from the standard model. The F Sport variant picks up some unique tweaks, too, including its own version of Lexus' massive "spindle" grille.

The LS got itself a new adaptive high-beam system as well, which is a feature on the RX model. It features LED light on a spinning mirror that doesn't just light up the road -- it helps to easily avoid incoming vehicles or pedestrians as well.

For people with cash to burn, you can get your LS with some premium interior trim made of cut glass. The 2021 version will arrive with top of the line interior features with the introduction of new finishers made of platinum leaf and Nishijin brocade.

The steering wheel's been added with new buttons and the screen now looks like its floating. But perhaps the best part of the interior upgrade is the addition of a touchscreen, which is long overdue by the way.

Upgrades to the 2021 Lexus won't be complete without the addition of new driver-assistance systems. The carmaker hopes to make driving easier with Lexus Teammate, which is essentially a group of features that make driving less stressful. What's great is that all driver-assistance tech can be upgraded using software systems, which means the company will definitely continue to expand this suite of features over time.

And now for a comfier ride, Lexus made upgrades to the 2021 LS' adaptive suspension and designed it in a way that the absorption will be reflected in different seat cushion materials, making the vibrations less pronounced in the cabin.

What's more, both the hybrid and gas versions of the vehicle now have engine-sound-enhancement and noise-cancellation systems. The LS 500h hybrid now has more battery assist at lower speeds for more comfort and efficiency, while the LS 500 now has more torque and different shift timing at common driving speeds.
