Capcom's next-generation horror title, "Resident Evil Village," reportedly features a lot of side characters with crucial roles in the game. Sony unveiled the eighth installment to the popular horror franchise just recently at the PS5 digital event. If the latest information is accurate, Capcom is assigning more essential roles to NPCs than its predecessors.

The tipster shared the information about the side characters' role in the upcoming title on his official Twitter account. According to him, the villagers in the gameplay a much more significant role than what people usually do in a standard "Resident Evil" title.

The people in the village are crucial to "Resident Evil Village," while a number of them are just normal people, the insider added. In "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," players encounter several normal characters. This includes Zoe and Lucas Baker. It would be interesting to see how the upcoming installment explores this.

It can be recalled that gaming studio Capcom has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the title Village. It earlier said that all kinds of entities are wandering in this unknown location. This includes werewolves and, most likely, NPCs. If the player's decision and actions influence the lives of the villagers is still unknown. The insider's information seems to suggest that "Resident Evil Village" would be around 11 to 13 hours long. That's because it takes between 9 and 11 hours, depending on gameplay, to finish "RE7: Biohazard." It is worth mentioning that this new set of information, while exciting are not official. It is wiser to take this with a pinch of salt. Capcom announced that "Resident Evil Village" would arrive on next-generation gaming platforms' Xbox Series X and PS5.
