Kanye West finally broke his silence over his controversial announcement about his plan to fun for US president. As he revealed he no longer supports Donald Trump, after being his keen supporter, the POTUS now reacted to the rapper's presidential bid.
By its looks, Trump seems to have no problem with West's plan to run for President, even if it means they will compete with each other. As the television personality is also running for his second term in the upcoming presidential election in November, he even gave some advice for Kim Kardashian's husband.
The 43-year-old singer-songwriter seems to be late into the game as it is only four months away before the Election Day. Although he has yet to officially register, in an interview with Real Clear Politics, via Celebrity Insider, the US President believes competing against him will be quite "interesting."
He even encouraged his "great friend" to achieve his "political aspirations" and added he "has a real voice." However, he pointed out that the fashion mogul already missed the deadline to have his name appeared on the ballot in some of the US states.
So, Trump suggested that it would be an excellent opportunity for West to test the waters in the 2024 presidential election instead as the actual poll is a little too close for him to win. If he continues with his plan, with all the missed deadlines, the 74-year-old business magnate explained it would only be a trial run for what might happen in the next four years.
The fashion designer has been known for being a loyal supporter of Trump. He even often donned the "Make America Great Again" hat to show his allegiance. However, in an interview with Forbes, the record producer revealed he no longer supports the current President.
West took the red hat off with the interview and even denied that his presidential bid was only a marketing stunt for his upcoming album. He also revealed that he already had himself registered this week to vote for the first time.
He went on to say that Trump's presidency looked "one big mess" to him. He also disclosed that he didn't like it when he learned that he hid in the bunker in the middle of the Black Lives Matter protest outside the White House.
Talking about the red Trump hat, which he often wore in public, he said the only reason he donned it was to show his protest to the "segregation of votes in the Black community." Despite stopping his support, West believed Trump was the closest President the US had in years that "allowed God to still be part" of the talk.
