Kanye West finally broke his silence over his desire to fun for US president after his surprising announcement. Aside from revealing plans for his platform, the 43-year-old rapper also confirmed his wife, Kim Kardashian, would be one of his campaign advisers, and asked Joe Biden and Donald Trump to bow out.
In an interview with Forbes, West showed how serious he is with his announcement. He confirmed it wasn't a publicity stunt for his upcoming album, and he is ready to compete against Trump and Biden in the forthcoming 2020 presidential election.
He seemst to be confident of his chance at winning, asking other candidates to "bow out." He said Trump and Biden should now quit, explaining that the US is God's country, and he is in service of Jesus Christ. West continued they are "doing everything in service to God," and he will put everything he gets on the line to serve Him.
Today, the fashion mogul has two advisors on his team - Kim and Elon Musk, who publicly showed their support after he announced his plan to run. He also now has a running mate, Michelle Tidball, who is a preacher from Wyoming, where he has been spending a lot of time as of late.
West has been known for being a keen supporter of Trump, but everything changed after his presidential bid. He recently said that the US looks like "one big mess' to him under Trump's presidency. He also did not like the news that Trump hid in the bunker when protesters flocked the White House's gates.
However, it looks like he dislikes Biden even more. The fashion designer called Barack Obama, Trump, Bill Clinton, and even himself "special," except for Biden. According to Al Jazeera, it might have something to do with the former vice president's interview on a radio show, which was famous with African Americans, in May.
At the time, the presidential aspirant suggested Black people who would vote for Trump was not "Black." His suggestion resulted in outrage, and he later apologized.
West found Biden's comment a form of racism, White supremacy, and White control. He explained that the former senator seemed to suggest that all Black people needed to be Democrat.
Hence, it would be no biggie for West to split the Black vote in the upcoming Election Day in November. But for him to make it in the 2020 presidential election, he now has to move quickly to organize a campaign team and get his name on the ballot in all 50 states.
