Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are currently staying in Windsor Castle. While other British Royals have already returned to their public appearances, the British Monarch and her husband have chosen to continue self-isolating behind closed doors.

Despite this, controversies and allegations have continued to follow the head of the British Monarchy in recent weeks. This week alone, new claims have emerged about her and the Duke of Edinburgh regarding their absence from Archie Harrison's christening last year.

On July 6, 2019, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's firstborn son was baptized in a private chapel inside Windsor Castle. All of the immediate members of the British Royal Family were present.

However, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not present. As stated, they had "prior commitments," according to Insider. This was also, reportedly, confirmed by royal expert and correspondent, Rebecca English, on social media.

The British Monarch, reportedly, had a "number of engagements" in Scotland at the time. There was a "diary clash," the sources explained. As for the Duke of Edinburgh, it was not disclosed as to why he was absent.

Although their absence all made sense at that time, new claims suggested that there was an "issue" between the royal couple and Meghan Markle causing them to miss their great-grandson's christening. These claims all came from the recently released bombshell book, Royals at War, according to the Daily Express.

As stated by its authors, Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, "pointedly," "stayed away." They wanted to make a "statement," so they missed the high-profile ceremony, the book further suggested. A palace insider then, reportedly, said that the royal couple felt "publicly embarrassed" due to the Duchess of Sussex's "controlling behavior.

The alleged tension between Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth II has further "intensified" its stance recently when the Duchess of Sussex issued a shocking claim in her legal documents against the Associated Newspapers. As reported, she said that the institution left her "undefended," especially during the time she was very "vulnerable."

It is also noted that the Duchess of Sussex was referring to the time she was pregnant with Archie Harrison. The publication then said that she also asserted that she had been "prohibited" from protecting and "defending" herself despite the continued false claims about her.

While these claims may seem true, no confirmations have been made since the allegations' emergence. Also, the palace, as well as the British Royals involved, have remained silent about the matter, as per claims.
