U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla recently launched a couple of aftermarket accessories for Model X and Model S vehicles. In the early part of 2020, the automaker introduced the wireless phone charger for both vehicle models. Now, Tesla has made this device a standard on both Model S and Model X vehicles.

New Tesla Model S, Model X After-Market Accessories

Tesla introduced the new wireless charger for Model S and Model X on its official shop website. The page offers descriptions and instructions on how the new car accessory operates. It describes the new wireless phone charger as capable of providing up to 7.5W of power.

To make the wireless phone charger for Tesla Model S and Model X work, users have to dock the Qi-enabled handset into the holster. The accessory will automatically charge the smartphone without the need to connect it with any cables. Tesla also emphasized on his official shop website that the MCU1 Model S and Model X or those with Tegra chip, the charging speed is cut to 5 watts. The new Tesla wireless phone charger retails at $125.

Others who prefer the more affordable wireless phone chargers could purchase one. There are similar products available online, and the one on Amazon only costs $40. Aside from the wireless phone charger, the U.S. electric vehicle maker also launched a new cargo net.

This new accessory is ideal for the rear trunk and retails for $50. Tesla describes the new netting as a stretchable elastic netting that could protect fragile items. It could also secure luggage or sports equipment. According to the company, the Model X Cargo Net comes with a storage bag for easy stowing.

Tesla Cuts Model Y Price

In other Tesla news, the company recently slashed the price of Model Y crossover by $30,000. The move happened four months after the start of the Model's sales. Car enthusiasts can now purchase the Tesla Model Y at $49,990.

The price cut for Tesla Model Y crossover is the second huge move from the U.S. electric vehicle maker in six weeks. It can be recalled that Tesla slashed the prices of Model S and Model X by $5000 and the Model 3 by $2000. In the second quarter of this year, the company beat analysts' predictions when it delivered 90,650 vehicles to its customers.

The impressive feat triggered the 269% spike in the stock price of Tesla for 2020. Tesla CEO Elon Musk overtook Warren Buffet in the Billionaires' Index of Bloomberg.
