Prince Harry is making a fresh start in Los Angeles after quitting royal life with Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in their withdrawal announcement that they wish to be “financially independent” as they start their new life outside the Royal family. Although they still receive funds from Prince Charles and the Duchy of Cornwall, the couple needs to find sources of income.
Now, a royal expert questions what kind of job Prince Harry would do to fill his time in Los Angeles. Tom Quinn wonders about the Duke of Sussex’s US career.
“What’s his role?... He can’t get a job in McDonald’s or for an investment bank, what’s he going to do?” he told the Daily Star.
Previous reports revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be creating their own TV firm. Rumor has it that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be providing voiceovers and producing documentaries on “worthy causes,” and this is where they will be earning their money.
It is also heavily speculated that Meghan Markle will return to Hollywood. The Duchess of Sussex was an actress before she met and married Prince Harry in 2018, so the entertainment industry is a place that feels like home to her.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have all the right to do anything they want, just as long as it’s not affecting the monarchy and they have Queen Elizabeth’s approval. However, LBC’s Nick Ferrari said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wish to be “financially independent” is impossible.
The British journalist and radio and television presenter pointed out that it would be extremely hard for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be “financially independent” considering their lavish lifestyle.
Nick Ferrari noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle even took a six-week break last year to spend the holidays in the US last while the rest of the royal family do all the work. He just can't seem to see the Duke of Sussex’s sense of duty.
It was the first time that Prince Harry spent Christmas away from the royal family. A lot of royal fans were disappointed in the Duke of Sussex especially because his grandparents are not getting any younger, and they believe that he should cherish his time with them.
