Meghan Markle and Prince Harry said their “I dos” in 2018. Their nuptials was one of the most popular unions of the Royal Family members.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding day was like a fairytale and was close to perfect. However, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding conductor revealed that their demands almost led to chaos.

Karen Gibson from the Kingdom Choir shared that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were very demanding. She said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted a particular version of the popular classic “Stand By Me,” but they could never seem to approve the final version of the choir’s rendition.

"They wanted our version of Stand By Me to be like Tracy Chapman's version of Fast Car in that they wanted it really stripped down and pared back, and they wanted it to have less beat,” she said.

Karen Gibson then said that it’s almost impossible for a song to have less of a beat. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's extremely hard demand made the choir do “version upon version.” The conductor revealed that the final version was the 12th one, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t get to hear it before the wedding. Karen shared that it took them a long time to create what the couple wanted, and they almost ran out of time.

Fortunately, Karen Gibson and the Kingdom Choir managed to complete their “Stand By Me” rendition, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seemed to be happy with it. The performance footage quickly garnered a lot of attention, and it has 12 million views on YouTube as of this writing.

Meanwhile, wedding ceremonies are not cheap. If regular people with fewer guests spend a lot of money during their nuptials, how much more the royal family?

Prince William and Prince Harry are two of the most popular members of the royal family, which is why people are very interested in them more than the others. So when Prince William got married to Kate Middleton in 2011 and Prince Harry tied the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018, many are curious about the details of their nuptials, including the cost.

According to Bridebook, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding cost $45.8 million, making it the most expensive nuptials within the royal family. The royal family covered most of the wedding expenses, while the Duchess of Sussex paid for her wedding dress.

The whole $45.8 million didn’t go to the wedding alone. The $40 million was used to pay for security, which was shouldered by the taxpayers.
