Dancing with the Stars Season 29 will be completely overhauled. Fans are about to see a different dancing competition when the show returns to the small screen after Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrew's exit and Tyra Banks' upcoming takeover.

The show and the network's producer, BBC Studios, announced that it would take a new "creative direction." In a joint statement to Deadline, noted by Celebrity Insider, ABC and the studio said Bergeron would always be part of the DWTS family after hosting it for 28 seasons.

They sent their sincerest gratitude to the 65-year-old host for his "wit and charm" that helped the dance competition series a huge success. They also thanked Andrew for everything she brought to the ballroom, as her signature sense of humor became "a hallmark of the show."

Bergeron, alternatively, said in a tweet that it had been an "incredible 15-year run" and "the most unexpected gift" of his career. Despite his exit, he was grateful for his time on the show and the lifelong friendships he had made.

According to HollywoodLife, ABC wants to bring more diversity in Dancing with the Stars Season 29. The producers are, reportedly, eyeing to add at least one person of color to host the show that will replace Bergeron and Andrews.

Among the many creative decisions is having only one host. An insider told the publication that the producers are still trying to figure it out out if they should have two hosts. The decision is said to be based on a few factors, like the chemistry between the hosts.

However, due to the restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic, hosting and judging will only be done remotely. If this happens, one host is only needed as two hosts' dynamic seems to be impossible to happen in this scenario.

Recently, news emerged that Banks would be hosting Dancing with the Stars Season 29. She would, reportedly, be showing her moves as a solo host.

The America's Next Top Model creator would replace Bergeron and would also be the show's new executive producer. In a statement, via CNA Lifestyle, she said she is indeed a fan of the show's approach of "fun mixed with raw emotion."

Seeing the celebrities get out of their comfort zones while doing their sizzling dance performances, reportedly, always brings Tyra Banks back to her time on the catwalk. Banks also praised the show's legendary host since it debuted in 2005, saying Bergeron had set "a powerful stage." She is, now, excited to continue his legacy in Dancing with the Stars Season 29.
