Prince George and Princess Charlotte have, reportedly, started a new hobby while staying in their country estate in Anmer Hall. The two older Cambridge kids, who are 7 years old and 5 years old, respectively, are busy raising chickens, which their grandfather, Prince Charles, would likely approve.

According to The Sun, there's a special hen house in the backyard at Anmer Hall, where Prince George and Princess Charlotte collect fresh eggs daily to immediately use in the kitchen. They help their mother, Kate Middleton, with raising the chickens inside a well-planned chicken coop. The kids feed their brood of hens with organic food.

The Cambridge siblings, most likely, inherited their enjoyment for raising chickens from Prince Charles. Their grandfather has his own flock at his farm in Highgrove, including Orpington chickens that lay brown eggs.

A source said that Prince Charles' knowledge in raising chickens is "encyclopedic" as he is knowledgeable in every breed's needs. The Prince of Wales was featured in the book The Illustrated Guide to Chickens: How to Choose Them, How to Keep Them.

It's been a running joke between Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, to call their Highgrove estate "Cluckingham Palace." Even Camilla, apparently, likes raising and tending to the birds because it makes for a satisfying hobby.

Meanwhile, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as their youngest sibling Prince Louis, have each been assigned vegetable patches in their backyard garden, where they have been growing their own crops since the coronavirus lockdown. Sources said that the children compete in watering and weeding the flowers and vegetables to show pictures of their work to their Grandpa Charles and Granny Queen Elizabeth.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been taught by their mother to contain fresh mints in a pot. Prince Louis, on the other hand, prefers working on his carrot patch with some supervision from Kate.

When the Cambridge kids spend time in Prince Charles' Highgrove estate, they mostly tend to the garden as well. The children also have their own farming and gardening tools at Highgrove. Unfortunately, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are still not able to visit Prince Charles due to the restrictions.

Kate believes that giving Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis a lot of outdoor time helps them develop into happy and healthy kids. The Duchess of Cambridge herself have many fond memories of playing and learning in her grandmother's backyard as a child.
