Greenleaf season 5 serves as the series finale and the final episode is slated to arrive later this summer on OWN. We could expect more drama, including some family secrets being revealed. The fate of Calvary is also in question and some people from the past are coming back.

In a recent interview with Good Morning America, series star Lynn Whitfield discussed what viewers can further expect in Greenleaf season 5. She's hoping that the audiences would feel fulfilled with what they're going to see in the series finale.

The story could get even more intense since we're nearing the end and the Greenleaf family has to deal with their own problems. Some of their actions could lead to dramatic turns. So, there is no guarantee that everyone will get a happy ending that they deserve.

Whitfield is also coy about whether or not Oprah Winfrey returns as Mavis in Greenleaf season 5. It's yet to be seen if she's indeed coming back. But, Winfrey, previously, hinted the potential return of her character. After all, Lady Mae and Mavis still need to go head to head to make the story more exciting.

The two have so much history. So, it would be nice to see Oprah's character appearing in the series for one last time. Also, after everything, the series finale may eventually focus on its central theme: faith and family. It's a chance for the Greenleafs to come together, support each other, and have a fresh start.

Meanwhile, fans will see the return of Rochelle in the next episode of Greenleaf season 5. We know that this character will eventually come back to stir things up, considering her history taking on Bishop. And now, she emerged in Tara's world and this could lead to a lot of problems moving forward.

The synopsis notes Bishop is reeling from the return of an old enemy and leads him to push Lady Mae to unveil a family secret. Charity, on the other hand, urged Phil to face his past. Meanwhile, Darius and Grace discovered some shocking truth about Bob Whitmore and Edenvale Lending.

It looks like the two uncovered something and get them to the bottom of Bob's shady dealings. Yet, it's still unclear whether or not the Greenleaf family could eventually get the Calvary back. If ever they lose it for good, they could start again and rebuild with a great foundation.

Greenleaf season 5 drops its new episodes every Tuesday night on OWN.
