Meghan Markle, allegedly, used to set up paparazzi photos and leaked information to the press before she met Prince Harry and joined the Royal Family. Prince Harry and his wife's bombshell biography, Finding Freedom, claimed the Duchess of Sussex used to give the media story leads and photo opportunities for her own benefit.

The biography revealed Meghan would occasionally set up paparazzi photos here and there and slip info to the press. However, things started to change when she met Prince Harry.

According to Mirror Online, the former actress started to do "everything in her power to protect the privacy of her relationship" with the Duke of Sussex when they were only beginning their romance. She knew that, if she kept things about them a secret, they would have the chance to know each other more without worrying about the reporters "covering and commenting" on their brewing relationship.

However, when they learned their secret relationship would soon be out and hit the headlines, the authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote Prince Harry's phone never stopped ringing with work from the Palace. Royal aides would suggest it would be best for him to cut his trip short and return to London in secret.

His minimal security also became an issue. However, Prince Harry seemed not to mind it. He was not moving at all.

When the time came that their relationship broke, a Toronto paparazzo texted Meghan to ask if it was true. She simply never responded.

Kensington Palace, then, confirmed their romance by issuing an official statement. The announcement, which was written by Prince Harry, also aimed at the media and accused the journalists of using "racial undertones" in their reporting about Meghan, Daily Star noted.

From here, the couple has been open about their difficulty of being under the royal spotlight. Sources revealed they found it hard to deal with the amount of interest in their lives. They even ended up filing a lawsuit against a British newspaper for a breach of privacy.

This, also, made Prince Harry afraid of Meghan's safety. He is even disappointed in himself for not being able to protect her.

The Meghan today is a far cry from the Meghan who used to leak information and agree for photos with the press to help boost her status as a Hollywood star. The change of her relationship with the media is, reportedly, one of the main focuses of Finding Freedom, which revealed Prince Harry's wife described the tabloid articles about her, especially during her pregnancy, as "death by a thousand cuts."
