Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided that being royals is not for them anymore. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stunned the world when they announced, back in January, that they would be stepping down from being senior royals. Two months later, they officially withdrew from their roles.
Many believed that the main reason why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry quit royal life is that the former actress was not prepared to be a part of the Royal Family. However, royal authors revealed that the Duchess of Sussex already knew about the craziness of royal life before their royal exit. In fact, it was Prince Harry himself who told her about what to expect.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who penned “Finding Freedom," said that Prince Harry wanted to impress the American actress during their date. While the Duke of Sussex did not mention his royal status, he did hint that royal life is not easy at all.
"The most he had admitted at that point was that his life was 'sometimes a little mad,’” an extract from the unofficial biography read.
According to the authors, Prince Harry knew that impressing Meghan Markle was “tougher than just giving her one of his big smiles” so he made sure that they would have a great conversation. The Duke of Sussex talked about his charity works and his trips to Africa and it was a smart move as the former Suit star, reportedly, admitted that their passion for changing things for the better was: “one of the first things we connected on.”
Meanwhile, Megan Markle and Prince Harry are, currently, living in Los Angeles with their son Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making a fresh start in the U.S. after their royal exit became official in March. The couple, then, announced the name of their new foundation Archewell in April.
While things appeared to be going well for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, another book called “Royals at War” claimed that the Duke of Sussex has been “secretly tortured” with their decision to move to Los Angeles. Royal authors Andy Tillett and Dylan Howard alleged that the Duke of Sussex is having a hard time adjusting to his life in the U.S.
However, an insider shared that Meghan Markle is trying her best to help Prince Harry while settling to their new life. The Duchess of Sussex is, reportedly, assuring her husband that he will eventually love their LA life “once things go back to normal.”
