Now, a royal commentator said that Queen Elizabeth had been “very generous” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Even though Her Majesty “has kept the door open” for them, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could not have it “both ways.”
"They have been given a massive amount of what they wanted, the Queen was very generous. She has kept the door open to them but they can’t have it both ways. It can’t be royal and earn lots of money for themselves at the same time,” Angela Levin told talkRADIO.
The royal expert also shared that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “still hark back about the most minute grievances.” Instead of moving forward, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to focus on the negative things, Levin said.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are two of the most popular members of the Royal family. So when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced earlier this year that they would step down as senior royals, many were shocked with their decision.
Since Prince Harry had been dealing with the downside of being royal all his life, many believed that their withdrawal had something to do with Meghan Markle’s struggles. Just two years after their marriage, the couple has now officially turned their backs on Royal life to start fresh in the United States.
In a rare interview, Sophie, Countess of Wessex shared that she knew what Meghan Markle was feeling because she felt it before too. According to Prince Edward’s wife, the Duchess of Sussex may have struggled with adjusting to the spotlight.
Although Meghan Markle was an actress before tying the knot with Prince Harry two years ago, meaning she should have been used to the limelight, she may have realized that being a celebrity and a royal are two completely different things.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex pointed out that Meghan Markle was quickly thrust into the spotlight. After dating for two years, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in 2018. Sophie said that she was glad that she had a long courtship with Prince Edward.
