Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t only shock the public when they announced back in January that they would be stepping down from their senior royal roles, as it broke the hearts of the Royal Family as well. Many believed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s withdrawal harmed their relationship with the Royal clan.

However, the new book “Finding Freedom” alleged that Prince Harry’s relationship with Prince Charles was already strained before his royal exit with Meghan Markle. According to the unofficial biography, the Duke of Sussex felt that his father put the British public's opinions of him above anything else.

“Finding Freedom,” written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, claimed that Prince Harry had “grown frustrated” that he and Meghan Markle wasn’t given the same opportunity as the other senior royals. The Duke of Sussex was, allegedly, not happy that he and his wife "often took a back seat to other family members.”

"While they both respected the hierarchy of the institution, it was difficult when they wanted to focus on a project and were told that a more senior ranking family member, be it, Prince William or Prince Charles, had an initiative or tour being announced at the same time — so they would just have to wait,” the book read.

Despite the alleged ill feelings towards the Royal Family, some royal experts believe that Prince Harry will return to the U.K. one day. Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter said that the Duke of Sussex would be “crazy” not to go back home since L.A. is not a place fit for a prince.

He noted that the British public was “saddened” that Prince Harry moved to the U.S. They, also, feel that the decision “doesn’t make sense” at all. As for Meghan Markle, Graydon Carter said that the public sees her as someone from “a middling TV show that a lot of people didn’t see.”

Meanwhile, multiple reports claimed that Prince Harry had been struggling with adjusting to his life in the U.S. Some even alleged that the Duke of Sussex was regretting his and Meghan Markle’s decision to turn their backs on royal life.

Royal Biographer Tom Bower, then, claimed that Prince Charles assured Prince Harry that he will always have a place in the Royal Family. However, the same could not be said for Meghan Markle as there is “no return” for her.
