For the Best Choreography, BTS' choreo for ON will face off against CNCO & Natti Natasha's Honey Boo, DaBaby's BOP, Dua Lipa's Physical, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's Rain on Me, and Normani's Motivation. ON's choreography was developed by Son Sung Deuk, Lee Ga Hun, and Lee Byung Eun.

Finally, for the Best in Kpop category, BTS competes with fellow idols like EXO, who is nominated for Obsession, (G)-IDLE for Oh My God, MONSTA X for SOMEONE's SOMEONE, Red Velvet for Psycho and their Big Hit Entertainment labelmates Tomorrow X Together (TXT) for Run Away.

It can be recalled that BTS received five nominations in last year's MTV Video Music Awards for Best Kpop, Best Group, Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, and Best Collaboration. They managed to take home two wins for Best Kpop and Best Group in 2019.

While waiting for the results of this year's awards show which will happen in New York across five locations on August 30,  BTS is focusing on their preparations for their English language digital single which will be released next month.

Even before the release of the new single on August 21, there is already strong speculation on how the song will perform on the Billboard Hot 100s charts, one of the prime indicators of a song's international success.

According to a report by Forbes, all eyes are now on Big Hit Entertainment's representative idols to see whether the new English language single can outperform previous releases.

It can be recalled that their last single ON,  peaked at No. 4 of the Hot 100 even though it was a song written and performed in Korean.

The new English language track is expected to connect better with international ARMYs with the elimination of the language barrier for the track.

Apart from the digital single, ARMYs can also look forward to a new album from BTS to come out before the end of the year. While details remain scarce on the release date, BTS confirmed that it will come out in 2020.
