Greenleaf season 5 episode 8 is coming next week on OWN, with the title "Behold." This episode serves as the series finale. So, be prepared for more emotional stories and unexpected revelations. Some of the loose ends hanging since the beginning will be tied, as well.
Greenleaf season 5 episode 8 picks up the events that happened in the penultimate, with Bishop's fate is in question and the family has to find a way how to move forward. In the closing minutes, we saw the patriarch collapsing and some speculated the character might be dead.
When Lady Mae goes to her husband to tell him that she is ready for the wedding, Bishop seems to be in so much pain and asks for a pen. He, then, write the words "I do," before falling on the bed. Based on what was shown, the head of the Greenleaf family is no longer with them.
Bishop seemingly died of a stroke after doing what he can to save the Calvary and make sure the Harmony and Hope won't succeed with their plan. This is something that he should have done a long time ago; admitting to all of his sins.
Bishop owned what he did in the past and tried to win his congregation back -- and he did. With the help of others, particularly Grace and Darius, they were able to take down Bob Whitmore. Now, the family finally has a chance to move forward and start anew.
The synopsis of Greenleaf season 5 episode 8 notes that Grace and the rest of the family need to lay the past to rest once and for all while God's plans for their future unfold. It remains to be seen whether Bishop is dead or alive.
If the patriarch is, indeed, gone for good, the family should prepare themselves for whatever is coming in the future. Kerissa and Jacob must make a final decision about what they want for their relationship. Phil, on the other hand, needs to evaluate his actions after Charity turned him down.
As for Grace and Darius, they'll likely take their relationship to the next level since all of the problems are now over. It's nice to see these characters establishing a certain path to their future while remembering Bishop and the things he's done to earn redemption and take back the Calvary.
