2PM's Nichkhun filed an injunction against a woman who was stalking him.
According to a report by Soompi, Nichkhun sought a restraining order against a woman identified only as Kim after alleging that the woman has been stalking him.
The Civil Affairs Department of the Seoul Central District Court, reportedly, started the first round of questioning to determine Nichkhun and the woman's positions.
Nichkhun filed the injunction request as early as July 6. His agency, JYP Entertainment, reiterated their position against the accused by saying that they are considering legal action against the woman.
The agency further said that they do not want to be lenient in their response since Nichkhun has suffered constant mental stress because of the stalking.
Nichkhun, recently, released a Japanese album, which was ranked as among the top-selling records by Japan's Tower Records. According to a report by Soompi , Nichkun's The Story Of.., ranked 8th in the Top 10 bestselling Japanese albums from Korean artists for the first half of 2020. The album was released last December.
2PM's Nichkun is not the only JYP artist who has been suffering from sasaeng fans. It can be recalled that TWICE was placed under tight security when Nayeon's foreign fan attempted to get close to her multiple times.
The foreign fan identified only as Josh, traveled to Korea last year to get a face to face meeting with Nayeon. However, when his attempts failed, he took to social media and youtube to air out his frustrations at JYP Entertainment for keeping him away from Nayeon.
He even successfully managed to board TWICE's Japan to Korea flight even caused a commotion on the plane when he tried to reach Nayeon. The foreigner reportedly left Korea but continues to leave threatening messages against Nayeon, Koreaboo reported.
Also making the news recently was GOT7's Youngjae after he issued a strong warning directed at his stalkers.
According to a report , Youngjae posted his frustration on social media and detailed how the fans were invading his privacy by following him as he went to a salon and even a cafe. He said that the sasaeng fans were taking his pictures without his permission and even had the gall to approach him to ask whether they could post the stolen shots.
Fans appealed to JYP Entertainment to take bolder legal measures against these stalker fans to protect the mental health of their artists.
