Taylor Zakhar Perez revealed the real deal between him and his The Kissing Booth 2 co-star, Joey King. With their undeniable closeness, are they now dating?
The two become "really close" during the filming of the hit Netflix series. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Perez admitted to the host, Kit Hoover, that they "went away" for a weekend trip.
Perez couldn't deny that people started to "freak out" when they went together to attend some friends' birthdays and her own birthday, too. King turned 21 on July 30.
Despite the rumors about them, he, then, revealed they "are not dating." They only developed a close bond when they started filming The Kissing Booth.
But, Perez added they became closer after the show's production as they, literally, just live close to each other in Los Angeles. Hence, they are only friends, Hollywood Life noted.
As he can be at King's place after just a three- or four-minute drive, Perez revealed they became each other's "accountability partners" during the quarantine. They got to hang out, but they also made sure that they're not seeing people they never trusted.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Perez told E! News that they only trusted each other. They knew they weren't going out and who they're seeing. So, they deemed themselves safe.
Because of that, they became closer. They, also, got to dress together and go back to their dance tape with one another.
Perez found it rewarding to see how everything paid off. King could make him cry or laugh, describing him as "hysterical." Although The Act alum didn't mean anything to be funny, her laugh could effortlessly turn everything fun.
With their now grown friendship, he also told E! that he loves king "dearly," although they're not dating. So, where does the rumor about them begin?
E! noted that, aside from their incredible chemistry on-screen, their close friendship off-screen could also be the reason behind it. He was part of King's birthday celebrations and even posted a touching message online.
In a post on Instagram, Perez said he could write a lot of things about King all day. She was the reason he joined The Kissing Booth 2. She welcomed him with open arms, loved, supported, pushed him, inspired him to be a better actor, and shared her family with him.
King, also, made Perez laugh to the point that he had to check his pants if he peed. With that, he added he's grateful for her forever.
