Supergirl season 6 has no official release date yet, but it is expected to arrive next year on The CW. The series hasn't started production yet due to the current global health crisis and it could begin when the situation gets a little bit better.

But, aside from the real-life health crisis happening around the globe, the series also needs to consider Melissa Benoist's pregnancy. The lead star won't be able to start filming anytime soon, so we could expect Supergirl season 6 premiering in the spring of 2021.

Despite the delay, the series has been releasing posters of some of the characters, with the latest one featuring Nia Nal a.k.a. Dreamer. The official Twitter account of the series shared a photo of the character with a caption: "She's seen the future."

Nia Nal is a former speechwriter, reporter of CatCo Worldwide Media, and a human-Naltorian. She's the daughter of Paul Nal and the late Isabel Nal, the estranged sister of Maeve Nal. She embraced her powers after her mother's death, and eventually became the Dreamer.

She assisted Supergirl in the battle against the Children of Liberty and joined the Superfriends later on. Nia Nal helps the titular character to fight crime and to stop Lex Luthor and the Agent Liberty. She became one of the most essential characters in the series after joining in season 4.

One of the reasons why Supergirl season 6 is releasing posters is because the series wanted to showcase other cast members -- aside from the titular character. This is a way to honor each of them and highlight what they can do in the series.

For Dreamer, there are still a lot of stories worth-exploring on her end, especially after everything that she's been through in the fifth installment. After Nia Nal's poster, we could likely see more posters in the coming weeks featuring other characters.

Meanwhile, when Supergirl season 6 premieres of The CW, the main priority is to tie up the remaining loose ends in the season 5 finale. Following that, the new installment will move on to tackle new storylines and could introduce a new Big Bad.

It's yet to be seen who could be the new villain this time around, but Lex Luthor remains to be Kara Denver's opponent in the early run of Supergirl season 6. When this storyline wrapped up, the series could introduce a Big Bad, possibly from the comic book, and could be a huge threat for the superheroes.
