Disney has just made a stunning decision to skip theaters and will be releasing the live-action adaptation of Mulan directly in its streaming service. While the news was a welcome one for fans who are wary of going to the cinema due to the coronavirus outbreak, it also led to concerns about whether the film will be making enough money to make up for its pricey production cost.

In addition to that, people are also worried that it could lead to the House of Mouse choosing to release its major movies in Disney+ for the rest of the year. With that in mind, Marvel fans have started begging Disney not to release Black Widow on its streaming service.

There is little doubt that Black Widow is one of the most highly-anticipated films of 2020. Although the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick was already set to hit theaters in May, the premiere had to be pushed back as cinemas all over the world were closed done due to COVID-19.

For now, the Scarlett Johansson movie is still scheduled for release in November. However, fans are already worried that Disney's recent decision to make Mulan available on video on demand (VOD) will also lead to the studio being forced to release the MCU title on Disney+.

It was recently confirmed that Mulan will no longer get a theatrical release and will be made available directly on Disney+. The movie will be available on VOD for $29.99, which will be paid on top of the monthly subscription fee. But will Disney do the same thing for its upcoming major releases for the rest of the year?

Several Marvel fans have taken to social media to beg Disney to give Black Widow a theatrical release. Some pointed out that the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick deserves to be seen in the cinemas just like the other MCU movies before it.

In addition to that, people stated that Natasha Romanoff's standalone film has long been delayed and that the only way to honor her death is to see her movie in the theaters. Others even went as far as proclaiming that they are willing to wait a little longer just to get the chance to see the Scarlett Johansson film in the cinemas.

For now, Black Widow is still scheduled for release on November 6. Disney fans will finally be able to see Mulan for $29.99 on Disney+ on September 4.
