Orlando Bloom has a new animated series on HBO Max, where he lends his voice to a character based on Prince Harry. The Prince is a satire about the British royal family and the actor hopes the Duke of Sussex will find the humor in his characterization.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Orlando Bloom said that he's not one to mock the royals or any person, for that matter. As a proud "British boy," he understands how much the Windsors receive both love and hate from the public.

However, he signed on to voice Prince Harry because The Prince has a clever and witty script. Bloom said that his new show is "affectionately done" despite its concept. His fiancée, Katy Perry, actually described the show as "genius" so he couldn't pass up the chance to be Prince Harry.

Bloom shared that he has not yet met the Duke of Sussex when he agreed to work on The Prince. Subsequently, however, he got the chance to come face-to-face with Prince Harry and said that the royal is actually a nice guy.

The actor thinks Prince Harry will like The Prince because he has a great sense of humor. Bloom said that the show is a form of adoration in a slightly humorous form. He admits that he's trying to justify the series because he believes it doesn't poke fun at the royals.

HBO Max ordered The Prince to series based on an Instagram account from Family Guy writer Gary Janetti in January 2020. It came at a time when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped the announcement that they were moving to Los Angeles and leaving the royal family.

Janetti told Vanity Fair that The Prince will tackle this royal exit. However, the star of his show is an imagined version of Prince George, Prince Harry's nephew, who dishes witty commentaries about the state of the world. He said that the royal exit will be from the perspective of the seven-year-old royal.

The Prince will also feature the voices of Tom Hollander as Prince Philip and Prince Charles, Frances De La Tour as Queen Elizabeth, Iwan Rheon as Prince William, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle and Alan Cumming as the butler Owen. Orlando Bloom described Janetti as "smart and zeitgeisty." He said he will definitely let Prince Harry know about this creative talent the next time they see each other.
