Prince Charles and Meghan Markle's relationship as in-laws apparently got off on the right foot. The Duchess of Sussex apparently regards Prince Harry's dad as a "second father" amid her estranged relationship with her own dad, Thomas Markle.

According to the book, Finding Freedom, Prince Charles is a "supportive and loving" father to Meghan Markle. She doesn't just regard the Prince of Wales as an in-law and credits Prince Charles for changing her life "for the better."

Prince Charles, on the other hand, adores his daughter-in-law because she's "sassy and confident." The biography claims that the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex quickly became friends when they first met, while Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, is also reportedly fond of the American TV star.

Meghan apparently spent some weekends on retreat at Prince Charles and Camilla's home in Scotland during her engagement to Prince Harry. The heir to the throne and his daughter-in-law apparently bonded over the arts and theater, since Prince Charles also dabbled in acting in college.

More than this, however, Prince Charles was apparently thrilled that Meghan made his son happy. The Prince of Wales felt that she was the woman who made Prince Harry whole.

Prince Charles also gave Meghan immense support, especially when she went through problems with her own father, Thomas Markle, in the weeks leading up to her wedding. The royal stepped up and offered to walk her down the aisle, which was a break from royal tradition.

Meghan reportedly felt humiliated when Thomas arranged his paparazzi photoshoot. She was hurt and even more humiliated when her father decided not to attend her wedding, claiming it was his doctor's orders.

Following the arrival of her son, Archie, Meghan asked her mother, Doria Ragland, to inform her father of the birth because she wanted him to hear the news from family. However, the duchess apparently didn't want to know her father's reaction.

Their fractured relationship is now at the center of a lawsuit against the Associated Newspaper. Meghan alleged that the tabloid press corrupted her father and partly blamed the publication for their estrangement.

Meanwhile, some details of Finding Freedom are reportedly upsetting to the royal family, except for Prince Charles. Despite the specific scenarios in the book, which reveals Prince Harry and Meghan's gripes with the royal institution, Prince Charles is still apparently behind his second son.

The father and son reportedly talk every week, and Prince Harry has his father as a sounding board. The Duke of Sussex also listens to the advice of Prince Charles as he and Meghan try to make it on their own in Los Angeles.
