Kelly Clarkson did not hold back on her haters. The "Because Of You" singer fired back on a critic who blamed her and her career for her failed marriage to Brandon Blackstock.

Clarkson recently confirmed that she will temporarily fill in for Simon Cowell on America's Got Talent Season 15 as the latter recovers from his surgery following a motorbike bike accident last week. The "Stronger" singer will be sitting in at the two live shows of AGT this week.

Many welcomed Clarkson's presence in the talent show but one fan didn't. The fan wrote on Twitter "no wonder her marriage didn't work" in reaction to the news about Clarkson filling in for Cowell.

The fan comment suggested that Kelly's career was the reason that she and Brandon got a divorce. The commenter added Clarkson might not have time for her kids as well. She added the American Idol winner is no longer the "good old country girl" that she admired.

Clarkson replied to the comment and slammed the Twitter user for shaming a hard-working mother and career woman like her. The singer said she stepped in for Cowell because he is a friend who asked for a favor and stressed that is what "good old country girls" do.

The "Since U Been Gone" songstress also urged the troll to "aim higher." The Twitter user's comment has been removed since.

In June, Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock, ending their seven-year marriage. Many were shocked by the divorce news. Friends of the couple reportedly never suspected that the two were having trouble in their marriage.

Clarkson, Blackstock, and their kids spent the COVID-19 lockdown on their ranch in Montana after Kelly's Las Vegas residency was postponed back in March. The ex-couple has two children together: River Rose, 6, and Remington, 4. Both Kelly and Brandon are seeking joint physical and legal custody of their children.

Meanwhile, on her first day at AGT, Clarkson joked about how she would copy Cowell's tough judging reputation. In her post on Instagram, the singer said she would instead bring the "country" to the show because she has the worst British accent in the universe.

Aside from her short stint on AGT, Clarkson will also return as coach in The Voice Season 19. Unfortunately, the upcoming season has been pushed back. American Ninja Warrior will be taking The Voice's time slot while the singing competition will be having a late fall premiere.
