Simon Cowell will be missing in action in the live shows of America's Got Talent this week but viewers won't be having just three judges. Kelly Clarkson has been announced to fill in for Cowell.

NBC announced that Clarkson will be sitting on Cowell's chair at AGT in the meantime. The Voice coach herself confirmed the news on her social media accounts.

In her post, Clarkson hilariously announced her AGT stint. She said, though Cowell won't be able to make it this week, someone "far wiser, cooler, and hotter" will be taking his seat and that will be her.

Simon and Kelly have been friends for years. The former helped jump-start the "Since U Been Gone" singer's career after she won American Idol Season 1. Simon was one of the judges of the singing competition when Clarkson won.

Kelly Clarkson will be joining Simon's fellow judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara. Terry Crews will still host AGT Season 15.

Over the weekend, Cowell injured his back while trying his new electric bike in the courtyard of his home in Malibu. According to the statement released by his company, Syco Entertainment, the music producer landed on his back and sustained serious injuries that required surgery. Simon is, currently, recovering from his surgery.

On Monday, the 60-year-old AGT judge thanked well-wishers in his social media posts. He, also, advised everyone to read the manual carefully before trying to ride an electric bike.

Fellow AGT judges Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum, also, posted photos and videos from the Universal Studios stage, on Sunday, as the show continued taping without Cowell. The two said they already miss their boss.

America's Got Talent Season 15 will be airing its first two live shows on August 11 and August 12. The reality show airs Tuesday and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Meanwhile, Clarkson will continue to serve as coach of The Voice Season 19 along with Blake Shelton, John Legend, and returning coach Gwen Stefani. So far, NBC hasn't announced a premiere date yet for the upcoming season but it is expected to kick off in fall.

Aside from The Voice, Kelly Clarkson is, also, hosting NBC's The Kelly Clarkson Show, which recently won Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show for its pilot season. Clarkson was, also, named Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.
