Among all the British Royals, Prince Charles and Princess Anne are the most hardworking ones. Each year, they always top the list of the royals with the most engagements and appearances.
But, between the two, royal experts and commentators have always considered the Queen's only daughter as much busier than her eldest brother. Over the years, she has outdone every other British working royals, even the Queen.
Recently, however, analysts deemed the Heir Apparent "desperate" in trying to outdo his sister, according to the Daily Express. The royal experts, reportedly, claimed that he is seemingly trying to "cement" his authority as the future King of the United Kingdom.
Speaking on Royally Obsessed podcast, royal commentators Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie "discussed" the Princess Royal's work ethic. They described it as "insane" considering her track record in comparison to the other British Royals.
Fiorito and Bowie, then, asserted that she has only one "rival," adding that this is Prince Charles, the next person in line to the British Throne. They, reportedly, "wondered" whether the "rivalry" between them is "on purpose."
One of the commentators stated that the Prince of Wales likely does more events to ensure the hierarchy, as well as the line of succession. They, consequently, agreed that this is because of his position in the British Monarchy so "he needs a little nudge" above his sister.
In 2019, Prince Charles "eclipsed" Princess Anne in the list of the royals with the highest number of royal engagements and appearances. Based on the Court Circular, the Prince of Wales had 521 engagements while the Princess Royal had 506, according to Hello! magazine.
However, the Queen's daughter still came out on top in terms of the number of working days. She, reportedly, topped the list with 165 total working days as opposed to her brother's 125.
The British Royal Family always finishes each year with more than 3,000 engagements and appearances. For this year, however, reports believe that they may not reach the same figure because of the crises that the country has continued to face.
Royal correspondent Patricia Treble gathered research centering on the number of engagements that the British Royals conducted in 2020, according to the Royal Central. As per the figures, they are down by 60 percent in comparison to the previous years.
While Prince Charles and Princess Anne have remained to be the royals with most engagements and appearances, the family as a whole only accomplished 955 engagements. This time last year, they already conducted about 2,170 engagements and 2,344 in 2018.
