The release date of Sony's PS5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X may have been outed by a recent post by Epic games for "Fortnite," according to a new report. Both gaming giants announced last year that their forthcoming gaming systems would arrive in the Holiday of 2020. Interestingly, a recent post may have provided the industry with the potential release date of these much-awaited next-gen consoles.

PS5, Xbox Series X Release Date

Gamingbolt recently shared a report that pointed out the potential release date of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to the site, the latest post for an upcoming "Last Laugh Bundle" themed bundle for the hit battle royale title "Fortnite" may have spilled the beans. The site claimed that on Epic games' post, it seemingly narrowed down the time frame when the industry could expect the Xbox Series x and the PS5.

In its post, the game developer notes that the upcoming themed bundle for "Fortnite" would roll out on November 17 on various platforms. This includes PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The post further states that the "Lat Laugh Bundle" would arrive in time to release next-gen consoles' PS5 and Xbox Series X. The site speculates that it is possible that both gaming consoles could arrive on or before November 17.

Microsoft confirmed earlier that the Xbox Series X would be released in November 2020. The announcement came after several images of the alleged Xbox Series X controller surfaced online. In June, Microsoft CFO Amy Hood let slip that the new Xbox console would arrive in November.

Meanwhile, Sony still sticks with the Holiday 2020 release window of the PS5. During its most recent earnings call, the Japanese gaming console maker confirmed that the PS5 is on track to its timeline. Several reports previously revealed that Sony's back-end sources had started shipping but no specific release date for the PS5.

Upcoming PS5, Xbox Series X Events

Rumors have it that both Sony would make a major announcement related to the PS5 this August. Xbox Boss Phil Spencer earlier said that all questions related to the Xbox Series X would be answered in August, suggesting a possible event this month. But, nothing is official about these rumored events at the moment.

It is worth mentioning that while these details are interesting, these are unconfirmed and purely speculations. In this, it is smarter to take this information with a pinch of salt. If the Xbox Series X would arrive in November, Sony's PS5 is definitely arriving within that month too.
