Earlier today, Microsoft officially announced that the Xbox Series X would arrive in November. The confirmation happened after several images of the alleged Xbox Series X controller surfaced online.

While Microsoft already confirmed the release month of the Xbox Series X, Sony is still mum on the price and specific release date of the PS5. However, if the latest tip is to go by, it looks like the Japanese gaming console maker is poised to make the highly anticipated announcement this month. The latest information came from Twitter user Tidux, who claimed that PS5 fans would not have to wait long for the console's price tag.
According to the bean spiller, the Japanese gaming console maker is preparing to broadcast the announcement through a virtual event happening in the last week of this month. However, Sony reportedly back-pedaled and chose for a later date. Sony is looking at late August or early September announcement of the price and release date of the PS5, the tipster revealed.
Sony was reportedly gearing to showcase a teardown and BC info, announce the price and release date of the PS5 and launch exclusive titles in the first week of August. However, the company decided to do this after Xbox reveal its hand; first, the tipster added. Also, Tidux noted that the price reveal of the Japanese gaming console maker would be dependent on the price reveal date of Xbox.
In other words, Sony would not announce the price of the PS5 until Microsoft reveals the price of the Xbox Series X.
