BLACKPINK's Jisoo is, finally, debuting as a lead actress in a drama.

According to a report by Soompi, Jisoo was, recently, cast in Snowdrop, a drama that will be produced by JTBC. The news was, also, confirmed by a source from YG Entertainment.

The drama will be helmed by Sky Castle's director and screenwriter Jo Hyun Tak and Yoo Hyun Mi. Fans are, already, very excited about Jisoo's role in Snowdrop because of her natural on-screen charisma.

The BLACKPINK member received great reviews when she first made a cameo appearance on The Producers in 2015 before she debuted as a Kpop idol. Her 10-second cameo on tVn's Arthdal Chronicles last year, also, made the episode a trending topic on Twitter. She appeared as Song Joong Ki's first love in the drama.

After the episode, fans continued to clamor for more acting projects for Jisoo. Recently, there was a buzz that Jisoo was a strong contender for the lead role in the live-action adaptation of webcomic True Beauty.

Jisoo even won a poll and drew two million votes to star in the project opposite ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Kpopmap reported. The lead female role was, eventually, offered to Moon Ga Young.

Jisoo is expected to start working on her new drama after BLACKPINK completes promotions for their first full album, which will be released on October 2.

BLACKPINK's schedule has been jam-packed with activities since May after they collaborated with Lady Gaga for a track on her Chromatica album. In one of the biggest collaborations in Kpop history, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose worked with the iconic "Born This Way" singer on the dance song "Sour Candy."

BLACKPINK quickly followed up the success of "Sour Candy" with their first pre-release track "How You Like That" last July.

With the song, they charted five Guinness Records including most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours. BLACKPINK, also, earned the records for most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group. They, also, overtook the milestone set by BTS for "ON" when "How You Like That" achieved the record for most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube, and most number of viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.

They are scheduled to make another comeback with a collaboration with Selena Gomez on August 28.
