The Flash season 7 is not premiering until next year on The CW. Despite the long wait, the series has been sharing new details and updates as to what viewers can expect in the new installment. For instance, the latest trailer was released and teased the quest to save Iris.

The recently-released trailer of The Flash season 7 featured a lot of intense moments, with saving Iris (Candice Patton) being one of the biggest. The promo contains some of the footage filmed earlier this year before the real-life health crisis hits the globe.

The sixth installment was forced to end earlier than expected because of the pandemic. Yet, the plan remains the same and the new season will pick up the events that happened in season 6 finale. When the series returns, Barry (Grant Gustin) needs to do whatever he can to get Iris out of the Mirrorverse.

The quest to save Iris is one of the biggest stories coming in The Flash season 7. She's been stuck in the Mirrorverse for too long already and her time there has a huge impact in her life. Based on the trailer, she's starting to see herself, causing a lot of chaos in her mind.

But, aside from saving his wife, Barry needs to stop Eva/Mirror Mistress (Efrat Dor), as well. She was able to travel through the mirror at such speed, making it impossible for the titular character to take her on. After all, he's seemingly losing his speed and this could lead to a lot of complications moving forward.

Barry could use an artificial speed force to help him for the time being, though it could possibly change how some things work for him. But, in the end, he may find a way to bring back his powers, especially since it is one of the most important parts of him being The Flash.

Also, the trailer didn't give much detail about what viewers can expect with other characters, such as Cisco (Carlos Valdes). There's a concern regarding the future of this character, given that there are a lot of speculations about him for quite some time. It's yet to be seen whether or not he's leaving.

Meanwhile, Hartley Sawyer is not coming back as Ralph Dibny/Elongated Man in The Flash season 7. Earlier this year, the actor was fired after some racist and homophobic posts from his past resurfaced. Moving forward, we won't be seeing his character anymore, but his story will be given a proper ending.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Eric Wallace confirmed they're going to wrap up Ralph Dibny's story in the early run of The Flash season 7. Since Elongated Man can change faces and appearances in many ways, he could still appear in one episode to give his storyline a proper conclusion.
