The latest project from Xiaomi will surely interest kids and adults alike. The retail label says Ninebot GoKart Pro Lamborghini Edition, which indicates of a racing toy that boasts of a luxurious breed. The electric go-kart is now available in China for only $1,466, making it the most affordable Lamborghini to date.

Xiaomi said the racer is a creation in close partnership with the iconic luxury brand, which should further boost the go-kart's already compelling sex appeal. True to form, the miniature Lambo has the familiar yellow finish and a rear wing that reminds instantly of the actual Lamborghini sports car.

When in use, drivers can blast off from the built-in Bluetooth speaker the sound of a real Lamborghini engine, picking from the preprogrammed V8 and V12 engine sounds, which will give the feel of riding on the real thing. The go-kart can be controlled remotely using an app, which should come handy when a father allows his teenage son to take the electric ride for a spin.

To be clear, the Xiaomi go-kart is not street legal, meaning that is exclusively engineered for the race track. However, the unit is actually a combination of a go-kart and a scooter, according to Business Insider. In the setup, the go-kart part sits on the two-wheel scooter that is removable and can be used as a stand-alone.

In full form, drivers can certainly enjoy the Ninebot GoKart Pro as intended like such as drifting and actual racing. The unit offers four modes of driving, which as mentioned can be manipulated remotely by installing Xiaomi's application on a mobile device.

Mobility is not an issue as well. The Ninebot GoKart easily folds up and can fit into a car so bringing it from point A to point B should be a breeze.

Xiaomi packed the racer with a 432Wh battery that comes with a cooling mechanism. According to Electrek, the Ninebot's battery is powerful enough that the electric go-kart can run a distance of up to 25 kilometers. On the race track, that's equivalent to a maximum of 60 laps on a 400-meter track.

As mentioned, the Ninebot GoKart Pro was built both for the young and old. The bucket seat installed on the unit is spacious enough to accommodate a driver that weighs up to 100 kilograms. And the inclusion of remote control ensures that younger drivers are duly supervised when riding the unit.

In effect, the mini Lambo will be the first electric offering from Lamborghini and should serve as a strong hint that there will be more to come from the premium carmaker.
