Batwoman season 2 will introduce Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder once it arrives at some point on The CW. She will be taking the lead and titular role, replacing Ruby Rose's Kate Kane. While Leslie is now the forefront of the series, the producers are keeping a lot of details under wraps.

One of the main questions in Batwoman season 2 is whether Ryan Wilder's costume will be the same from what we've seen with Kate Kane or will be entirely different. Since filming hasn't started as of yet, there's a mystery as to what Leslie's costume looks like.

Based on some recent promotional arts, it seems like Ryan will have a brand-new suit. Also, it has been suggested that Leslie's character won't slip merely slip into Kate's established costume. Instead, the new iteration of Batwoman will either get an entirely new one or the previous suit will be upgraded.

Ryan's suit was, also, teased in the latest artwork depicting the DC Multiverse, which was drawn by DC Comics' chief creative Jim Lee. The most noticeable difference is the cape, in which Javicia's character is pure red -- rather than the jet-black worn by Kate.

The extra red extends to the utility belt, as well. Even though Rose's version wore a belt on her suit, Ryan's suit looks much more in terms of utility. Moreover, Kate had black gauntlets on her wrists, while Leslie's version is red and looks more weaponized.

It is also unclear whether or not Leslie will have her hair suited or wear a traditional wig in Batwoman season 2. If the series opts for the latter, then, the wig will be customized just for her. After all, the artwork it looks nowhere as straight as Kate's style did.

Meanwhile, in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Leslie confirmed she hasn't seen the costume yet since production hasn't kicked off at the moment. But, the actress expressed her happiness and hoping to be part of the series, not just in Batwoman season 2, but for a long time.

Leslie said not many actors get the opportunity to play something that develop and expand for a decade. She noted that it's a "great beginning" for her and a very long journey. Since most of The CW's DC Universe series lasted for several seasons, there's a huge chance Batwoman will be around for a good while.

Batwoman season 2 is expected to premiere at some point it 2021 on the CW.
